A winner by a neck (16/1) from Music Major over Course and Distance late last month (Stormbound fifth). Races from a three pound higher mark (72) on this occasion, but with Aled Beech claiming five pounds is effectively unpenalised. A six time winner on synthetics who seems certain to go close in follow up bid.
A five time scorer on synthetics (including three victories at this track), looks to be paying the price for a pair of victories at Chelmsford earlier in the year. However, is entitled to come on for most recent run after nine months off the track.
Not seen in action since racing over hurdles at Perth in June, and missed an intended start at Lingfield last Wednesday (Non-Runner). Hard to be enthusiastic about despite an easing Handicap mark
An admirable performer and multiple winner on the All-Weather down the years. Showed he retains plenty of ability despite his advancing years when a winner of a similar race (under this rider) at Lingfield a fortnight ago. Likely to figure from a three pounds higher mark.
Not beaten far when fifth behind Baltic Prince late last month, and perhaps gradually working his way back to form on that his second start after a late summer break. Have to go back three years for his sole Kempton success (November 2013; off a mark of 65)
Turf Maiden, but sports a 20% strike rate (2 from 10) on the All-Weather. However, work to do to reverse placings with both Baltic Prince and Stormbound on most recent start.
Ex French trained gelding (Freddy Head), who has been raced sparingly by current connections over the past few years. Solid effort back from nine months off when meeting trouble in the run when finishing third at Chelmsford in November to East Coast Lady
Maiden. Similar profile to stablemate Hannington, and off the track since early June when racing over hurdles at Market Rasen.
Forecasts
Baltic Prince (5/2), Gracious George (4/1), Stormbound (4/1), Believe It (5/1), Muzaahim (7/1), Seek The Fair Land (8/1), Hannington (25/1), Put The Boot In (66/1)
A race limited to inexperienced riders, where the use of the whip must be restricted to corrective use only. Seek The Fair Land was successful for this rider Jane Elliott at Lingfield recently, but at the age of ten will always be vulnerable to younger rivals. Baltic Prince, squeezes into this race off a mark of 72 (the result of recent changes to the Handicapping system) and is taken to follow up his late November Course and Distance success for a stable in sparkling form of late.
1. Baltic Prince
2. Stormbound
3. Seek The Fair Land
