Exeter maiden hurdle winner in April 2024 and solid second on handicap debut at Bangor later that year. Failed to progress in 3 subsequent appearances last term, but there were positives to glean from recent Worcester chase debut (still well in touch when falling 4 out) and he could build on that.

Responded well to first-time cheekpieces when gaining breakthrough success in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon in February. Well held next 2 starts, but firmly back on track when making a winning chase debut at Worcester (2½m, good to soft) on his reappearance last month and he's only gone up 2 lb.

Opened account over fences in good style at Fontwell in May 2024 and runner-up next 2 starts, including over this C&D. However, his form nosedived thereafter and hasn't been at his best in 3 runs since returning from a break/wind op in July.

Placed twice from 4 starts over hurdles in France and improved when getting off the mark in a Ffos Las handicap chase (19.4f, heavy) last November. Well below par in 3 subsequent starts, though, and probably worth taking on back from a 6-month break (has undergone a wind op in the interim).

Promise on first of 2 outings in bumpers and made a successful hurdles debut in Huntingdon mares' novice last November. Best effort since when third of 7 sent handicapping in first-time cheekpieces back there in March, but safely held at Southwell since and she's opposable now switched to fences.

Successful first 2 starts over fennces over this trip at Huntingdon in February/March. Failed to fire when bidding for the hat-trick at Southwell during the spring (jumping lacked fluency), but it's still early days for this 6-y-o and it would be no surprise to see him get back on track here.

More miss than hit overall, but placed twice since joining this yard and is now 9 lb below the mark off which he struck gold over this C&D for Dan Skelton last November. Dangerous to discount.

Posted best effort to date when going close in a big-field handicap hurdle at Warwick (19f, good to soft) in January. However, followed that with a string of lesser efforts and step forward needed now that he ventures down the chasing route.

Gradual progress over hurdles and immediately improved for the switch to fences during 2023/24 campaign, runner-up on debut in this sphere at Exeter prior to going one better at Taunton (18.2f, good to soft). 21-month absence naturally a concern, but he's unexposed in this sphere and merits respect.

Failed to build on maiden/novice hurdle promise switched to handicaps last term, but good start in this sphere when finding just one too good on his reappearance at this course (3m, good to soft). Dropping back in trip shouldn't be an issue and he's one to consider.

£30,000 purchase after getting off the mark at the second time of asking in Irish points last October. Just minor promise in a handful of runs over hurdles, but could be the type to do better now that he faces the larger obstacles with a first-time tongue strap enlisted.

Largely struggled for Pauline Robson following breakthrough success in December 2023, but the change of scenery appears to have worked the oracle judged on his emphatic display on return/debut for new yard at Hexham (2½m, heavy). 9 lb rise tolerable and big chance if able to back that up.

Cashed in on a reduced mark with a game display at Catterick (19.2f, good to soft) in January, but not in the same form next 2 starts and this 11-y-o looks vulnerable.

Made it third time lucky over fences at Chepstow (19.4f, good) in March and followed that with a couple of decent efforts in defeat. Below par over 3m at Bangor when last seen in May, but this drop back in trip may help and wouldn't be without each-way hope if fully tuned-up for this.

Pair of chase wins at the start of 2025, latterly off this mark at Doncaster in February. His jumping is far from foot-perfect, though, and he needs to bounce back in a major way following heavy defeats both starts since returning to action last month.

Conditions are unlikely to be anywhere as testing as they were when HEEZTHEBOY made a winning start for this yard at Hexham, but if the quicker ground doesn't prove to be an inconvenience the 8-y-o could take some stopping. Scottish King's chase debut second here was encouraging and he will be a threat if able to build on that, while Saint Cyr De Pail is also interesting. Kingoftheswingerz and Stardhem are others to consider.
