Group 3 Ascot winner on reappearance last term, before finishing third to Inisherin in the Commonwealth Cup at the same course and then sixth in the 2024 running of this race. Back on track to an extent when sixth in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee last month, but he looks vulnerable all the same.

Ended 2024 on the up, winning a well-contested minor event at Kempton in October and impressive from the front in listed company at Newcastle the following month. Reappearance third to Inisherin in a York Group 2 was no backward step and subsequent display at Royal Ascot can be excused.

Winner of the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and Sussex Stakes at Goodwood as a 3-y-o. Efforts in the Lockinge and Queen Anne (both Group 1s over a mile) this season suggest that he retains all his ability and, with the drop to 6f an interesting move, he's a very strong candidate.

Useful sort who landed a sizeable pot in Qatar earlier this year and went close in a Grade 2 in the US during the spring. However, he subsequently finished nearer last than first in another Grade 2 in the States and is likely to come up short once more.

Developed into a smart sprinter in 2023, finishing second in this race and fifth in the Champions Sprint at Ascot later that season. However, very lightly-raced since and while he hasn't performed at all badly in 2 starts since returning to action in April, others make more appeal.

A smart sprinter for Henry Candy at his best, but yet to fully fire for present yard and it's easy enough to look elsewhere.

Consistent in top sprints last season and, having changed hands for 3,000,000 during the winter, she provided a prompt return on that investment when landing a Grade 1 at Meydan in April. Excuses can be made for a below-par display in the King's Stand next time. Reportedly in foal to Frankel.

Smart and consistent filly who was just touched off by Inisherin on return in the Duke of York Stakes. Made the frame for the third time in top-tier company when third of 14 in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot (6f, good to firm) and she should give another good account.

Didn't race at 2 but had a great 3-y-o campaign, notching up sixth win in Newbury Group 3 in September. Predictably stepped up on her reappearance effort when second in a listed race at Haydock (5f, good) at the end of May, but probably biting off more than she can chew here.

Did little wrong at 2 yrs and perfect start to 3-y-o campaign when landing the Group 3 Commonwealth Cup Trial at Ascot (6f, good to firm). Wasn't seen to best effect in the Commonwealth Cup itself at the Royal meeting last month and he's an intriguing each-way proposition.

Dual 6f winner as a juvenile and good second to re-opposing stablemate Whistlejacket on return in a listed race at Navan in April. Again found just one too good at Newbury next time, but struggled at Royal Ascot since and Ryan Moore prefers Whistlejacket, just as he did at Navan in April.

Has quickly reached a useful level, making all in a 6f Yarmouth novice last month and fine second in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot (7f, good to firm) 9 days later. This is tougher still, but drop back to 6f is a good move and, with just 4 runs under his belt, he should have more to offer.

Record stands at 5-6 over this trip following his game victory in the Group 2 Sandy Lane at Haydock (6f, good to firm) where Big Mojo was back in fourth. More on his plate now and William Buick unsurprisingly sides with the proven Group 1 ability of Notable Speech, but he's a player nonetheless.

Winner of C&D July Stakes during a productive 2-y-o campaign, which also saw him score at the highest level in France. Got the better of stablemate Ides of March on return at Navan and was unlucky not to finish closer when sixth of 21 in the Commonwealth Cup last time. Solid each-way claims.

In an open-looking renewal of this prestigious race, WHISTLEJACKET could be the answer. The No Nay Never colt was one of last season's leading 2-y-os at this trip and the way he shaped in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, where he got no sort of a run, suggested that there may yet be more to come from him this year. If last season's Guineas winner Notable Speech copes with this drop in trip he will be a big threat, while Flora Of Bermuda and Believing are also strong candidates.
