Confirmed debut promise in spades when readily winning a 12-runner novice at Nottingham (8.3f, good) under a positive ride 49 days ago, a performance backed up the clock. Already a useful prospect and is likely to progress further. Looks the one to beat.

240,000 gns foal, Ghaiyyath gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful 2-y-o 6.5f/7.4f winner Harrow and 1¼m winner Concertation. Appeals on paper but yard not renowned for first time out winners.

Given a considerate introduction when fifth on debut over C&D in October, keeping on under hands and heels. Open to improvement.

Stepped forward from debut when well backed third of 6 in maiden at Catterick (7f, good) 34 days ago, never landed a blow. Wasn't given a hard ride that day and there could well be more to come.

Offered little and potentially flattered when sixth of 9 in maiden at Thirsk (7f, good) on debut 21 days ago. Others preferred.

Improved on debut form when stepped up in trip to finish third of 8 in maiden at Nottingham (8.3f, good to firm) 15 days ago. Should be competitive back at 7f but we'll likely see the best of him in handicaps.

320,000 gns yearling, Havana Grey gelding offered something to work with on debut in tongue tie when seventh of 11 in maiden (10/1) at Lingfield (6f, AW) 22 days ago, very green and not knocked about. Open to progress.

Unpromising start to career when eighth of 11 in maiden (16/1) at Thirsk (7f, good) on debut 21 days ago. Best to look elsewhere.

Again showed little when last of 11 in novice at Carlisle (9f, soft, 300/1) 29 days ago. Back down in trip but has plenty to prove.

€90,000 yearling, Night of Thunder filly. Half-sister to useful 1½m winner Scarlett O'Hara and 1m winner Irish Flame. Dam unraced half-sister to high-class 1m-11.5f winner Echo of Light. Interesting pedigree but likely to come into her own in handicaps over further.

Has more ability than she's been able to show in a couple of 7f Thirsk maidens, slowly away and looked a difficult ride when a weld held sixth last month, though she did make promising headway before her effort flattered out. May prove capable of better when tackling handicaps.

18:00 Newcastle - 27 June 2025 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

EXCELLENT BELIEVE confirmed himself a useful prospect when dominating a Nottingham novice last month and this looks a good opportunity to follow up that victory. Champion Again Ole was well backed when third at Catterick last time and remains open to improvement, while Arkleside and Henry Tudor could step forward having been considerately handled on their respective debuts.
