9/2
Stayed on strongly to win a Cork 2m4f novice handicap hurdle last month getting off the mark for connections at the 10th time of asking. Another bold show likely.

An'ballb1,t32
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: D J McInerney(3)| T: R Hackett| OR:  105

11-race maiden over hurdles and first time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.
3

Clontarfp,t17
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-8| J: A W Short(3)| T: D A McLoughlin| OR:  105| C| D

Course winner that has also won over the distance. Best performance in some time in a handicap hurdle here over 2m7f last month and hold strong claims in this contest.
4
Horse silk
Agusta Gold142
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-7| J: Danny Mullins| T: Ms M Mullins| OR:  104
11/2
Deservedly got off the mark over hurdles following a couple of fine efforts before a win in a Downpatrick maiden hurdle when last seen in August. Lay-off not ideal but a leading player.

Not much to shout about in three maiden hurdles in spring of 2017, before disappointing on return to action in a 2m hurdle here on handicap debut. Others look open to more improvement.
6
Horse silk
Beeper's Rubyt19
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-10| J: C D Maxwell| T: D A McLoughlin| OR:  93
20/1
Battling winner of a Wexford handicap hurdle over a similar trip in October off a 6lb lower mark on yielding ground. Well held on heavy since but worthy of consideration again here.
7
Horse silk
Kilkeaskin Molly14
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-8| J: L P Dempsey| T: J P Dempsey| OR:  95
5/1
10-race maiden has shown promise in handicaps on a couple of occasions including when second of 25 at Naas last month but she's far from consistent.
8
Horse silk
Court Adjournedt19
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-5| J: P J O'Hanlon(7)| T: D A McLoughlin| OR:  88| D
8/1
Followed up a solid run over 2m6½f when landing a Thurles maiden hurdle in November over 2m6f. Not fluently on latest start finally unseating at the fourth in a Tramore handicap chase. Could be interesting back over timber.
9
Horse silk
William Tyndalet44
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-2| J: Robbie Colgan| T: K Thornton| OR:  85
25/1
Not much to shout about in a couple of dour efforts since returning from a break of 18-months in November. Others look more convincing at this level.
10
Horse silk
Ahgetawayoutadatp34
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-13| J: S J Gray(3)| T: Miss E Doyle| OR:  86
16/1
Will have disappointed connections in a series of dismal displays over hurdles since August. Below-par form looks set to continue here.
11
Horse silk
Cher Why Not65
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-12| J: C P McNamara(7)| T: T Doyle| OR:  81
11/2
Has failed to finish either of his last couple of starts in October, pulled up before four out at Cork and Wexford over hurdles. Likely to find it tough going here.
12
Horse silk
Trissinop14
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-12| J: G P Brouder(7)| T: Mrs A Mooney| OR:  81

Nothing taken from five starts over timber so far to suggest that the Fastnet Rock gelding will be making a big impact here.

14:05 Fairyhouse - 1 January 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Although the lay-off is not ideal, the Margaret Mullins-trained AGUSTA GOLD can land the spoils here continuing her good form in the summer. A better hurdler than chaser of late, Court Adjourned could emerge as the biggest danger, while Ronald Pump and Clontarf are capable of decent efforts.
  1. Agusta Gold
  2. Court Adjourned
  3. Ronald Pump
