Bred to want time and more of a stamina test than this, so unsurprisingly found things happening too quickly on only bumper start. One to watch today.
Improved on a couple of bumper efforts to finish third at Warwick, although that form may not be the strongest (250/1 chance not far away in fourth). Will appreciate this step up in trip though, and each way chances again.

Looked useful when winning a Kempton bumper back in 2016, but it's all rather unravelled in two subsequent efforts and was well beaten at Fontwell on hurdles debut. Needs to bounce back from that.

Two efforts in point-to-points look solid enough and has joined a good yard, but likely to need this after an absence and yard, although having the odd winner, a little quiet at present.
Closely related to some useful sorts, including hurdles winner Pearlita, and ran out a nice winner of only point-to-point start. Has joined a top yard and must take high rank here.

Good winner of a bumper at Chepstow in April (in a race the yard like to introduce their better horses) and although disappointing at Fontwell on hurdles debut, must be better than that and is worth another chance upped in trip.

Hadn't shown much in point-to-points and hence going off 80/1 for a Punchestown bumper at their April festival, but ran a cracker to finish third, sticking well to the task. Should progress and worth a second look here.

Bred to want this sort of a trip, and not disgraced on only start when third in a Stratford bumper in March. Not seen since, but ought to do better this term and not ruled out if fit.

Ran a race full of proise on only start so far, finishing fifth at Warwick (faded late after looking a threat). Yard's horses tend to improve for time, but he's likely to need this after an absence today.

Point-to-point winner that was probably a little disappointing on his sole start to date, sent off 11/8 to be successful at Stratford but far too green to do himself justice. Bound to do better and with yard going well, not ruled out.

In good hands and plenty of jumping winners in the family, but hasn't really shown enough in a point-to-point and a couple of bumpers to suggest he's up to threatening the principals here.

Looked to need more time (and a trip) when last on debut at Warwick in April, tongue tie is tried today but he still looks an unlikely winner.

No great shakes in point-to-points and pulled up on only Rules start at Kelso. No realistic chance here.

Horse silk
125/1
No stars in the family and yard rarely have first time out winners in these events, so best watched unless strong in the market.
Winner of only point-to-point start although that was a weak affair, and he will need more here. Has joined a good yard and worth a glance in the market if nothing else.

Has twice shown a bit of form (at big prices) to be in the frame at Towcester, but that form needs big improvement here and she'd be better off in a handicap.

13:15 Chepstow - 31 October 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Some promising types on show, and HIGH NOON is taken to improve on his Stratford debut and take this. A half brother to the useful chaser Operating, he can get the better of Captain Cattistock, who looks a useful recruit from the pointing field and is likely to be wound up for his debut for Paul NIcholls today. Ballygown Bay showed enough at Stratford to think he can challenge for the places, but the likes of General Consensus, Forgot To Ask and Out Of Style make this a very interesting contest indeed.
  1. High Noon
  2. Captain Cattistock
  3. Ballygown Bay
