Key races and best bets
FAIRLY FULLING - 2.08 Newcastle
FAIRLY FULLING couldn't sustain his effort after looming up looking a threat at Sedgefield last month but that was his first outing after a break and it's possible he'll pack more punch at the finish this time. Last year's winner Balranald heads the dangers along with Prospect House and Platenium.
GRANDEUR D'AME - 2.47 Stratford
GRANDEUR D'AME had excuses on his last 2 starts and is expected to go well back down in class having won on his reappearance last season. Be Aware was useful over hurdles and is an interesting chasing debutant, while Immortal Fame thrived for this yard last season.
KISS AND RUN - 2.55 Bath
KISS AND RUN was beaten only short-head second by Marching Mac over C&D recently, so he's the percentage call to reverse the form on these terms and come out on top. Bonnita and I Need Your Love are others to consider.
FOUETTE - 6.15 Chelmsford
FOUETTE made light of a 14-month absence/market weakness when making a winning handicap debut at Southwell 23 days ago and, appealing as the type to rate higher still on that evidence, James Horton filly could well be the way to go from a 6 lb higher mark. Al Joory is the obvious danger given her solid run of form in handicaps. Cognisance with her reappearance run behind her is another to note.
DIVOT - 7.00 Southwell
A trappy handicap. DIVOT has shown his best form on all-weather tracks, with a neck second over this C&D and a solid runner-up finish at Wolverhampton recently and he's fancied to open his account. San Munoz is yet to fire for new connections but steps back up in distance and is well-treated if bouncing back, while Woodstock City is on a handy mark returning to a more suitable grade.
