Brother Scott showed up for a long way last time before being run down at Hexham - he takes a marked stepped up in trip today and has run well over similar distances in the past.

His problem may be with the in-form Dica. At the ripe old age of 11, he has appreciated the drop down in trip of late with a first and second, latterly coming up against a subsequent winner. Both mentioned horses are free runners so it should be a truly-run race today.

More Madness should relish a sound pace and I expect him to come there looming but feel he is a tad soft when things get tough - hence his winning record of two wins from 53 runs.

A horse who is a lot more prolific is SENDIYM. He's been switching between hurdles and chases this year and has finished runner-up on his last couple of starts after winning off a mark of 87 over hurdles.

At Hexham he ran very well when finishing second over fences and that was followed up by another solid run over hurdles. He's off a winnable mark, goes with cut in the ground, is in form and will enjoy a well-run race, so the 4/1 each-way looks a solid bet.

7.35 Newcastle preview

MARINE ONE is an impressive looking son of Frankel who seems the type to keep improving with racing. One of the least-exposed horses in the race, I expect him to take another step forward before making up into a more-than-useful handicapper.
