Fairly useful hurdler has had multiple breathing operations. Shaped well back from a break (goes well fresh) when a close third at Bangor (19.6f) in June but hasn't built on that, latest when well held in first time cheekpieces. Remains to be seen if he can bounce back over a longer trip.

Back to winning ways in a 10-runner handicap at Musselburgh in February but hasn't threatened from higher marks subsequently, running poorly with cheekpieces refitted at Perth (20.2f) 9 days ago. Is quickly back down to his last winning mark but hard to be confident unless market hints at a revival.

Point winner in May and looked better than ever back under Rules when scoring easily under Brian Hughes in a Southwell chase (24.3f) in June. Subsequent runs suggest he's too high in the weights over fences now but previous course winner has been competitive off his reduced hurdles mark previously.

4-time winner at this course last summer following a wind op. Has failed to fire this year and while he stopped the slide when fifth over C&D last month (with tongue strap refitted following another wind op), he hardly shaped as though a return to his best is imminent (tongue tie removed here).

Landed quickfire double over this C&D in May and having lost little in defeat when runner-up to at Bangor next time, surrendered his unbeaten course record when far too free over C&D 37 days ago. Drops back down in grade following a break but would need a career-best to resume winning ways.

Dual winner at Fakenham over hurdles and has won 4 times on the Flat this year. Has continued in fine heart across both codes of late and travelled like the winner back up in trip when runner-up behind a stout stayer at Worcester (23f) last month. Makes plenty of appeal over a sharper track.

Ran creditably over this C&D when third (following 4 months off) behind Evenwood Sonofagun in May prior to landing a third C&D success (all have come on soft/heavy ground) when a decisive winner here last month. Has an 8 lb rise and quicker ground to contend with but should remain competitive.

Dual mares hurdle winner at Newcastle (20.3f) in 2023 but has stood little racing since that season, finishing down the field in a 25.4f handicap last July when again failing to convince with her stamina for the trip. Back down in distance and market may guide expectations on return.

Tongue tie added to previously worn cheekpieces (retained) and showed a bit more than of late when fourth behind Dusky Days here on Saturday. Needs to build on that from out of the handicap.

STAR LEGEND has been in great heart on the Flat and over jumps this year and travelled like the winner when outstayed over a similar trip at Worcester last month. He should appreciate the return to a sharper track and can record a third hurdles victory, with 3-time C&D winner Secret Secret feared most. Do No Wrong could be an interesting contender back over hurdles.
