Turned in his best effort since joining current yard when creditable third (wore first-time cheekpieces) in a handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good to firm) 18 days ago. On a fair mark but remains to be seen if headgear has same effect here.

Some promise on debut for Michael Appleby but hasn't been straightforward since, took a fierce hold in the first half of the race (in first time visor) when sixth of 8 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f). Wasn't beaten all that far and could be worth another chance in first time cheekpieces.

Stays further than this but was too free over 12f (in first-time cheekpieces) when seventh of 9 in handicap at Brighton (11.9f, good, 5/1) 31 days ago. May have a bit to find back over 1m.

Wasn't disgraced in form terms after 4 months off but it was a rather laboured display when third on reappearance and was again short of her best form when seventh of 12 in handicap at Goodwood (8f, good) 24 days ago. Improvement needed.

C&D winner in testing ground last year (runner-up on other course appearance) but below form when last seen finishing fourth of 8 in handicap (6/1) at Kempton (7f) in February. Market may guide expectations on return but should be competitive if ready to roll.

Showed promise in maidens and took a small step forward on second handicap start when fourth of 14 in handicap at Newbury (8f, good to firm, 7/1) 18 days ago. Cheekpieces on first time and lightly-raced sort from good yard could well improve.

Winner at Southwell in April and looked the sort to run up a sequence. Has still looked raw on subsequent starts, typically looking awkward around Lingfield when blinkered for first time, finishing fourth of 10 in a handicap 11 days ago. Worth another chance back up in trip on turf.

Improved on seasonal reappearance (had been gelded) when third on the all-weather but could only match that form back on turf when sixth of 10 in handicap at Goodwood (9.9f, good, 6/1) 59 days ago. Remains to be seen if he improves for the drop in trip/application of cheekpieces.

Dual all-weather winner but again underperformed on turf when 100/1, eleventh of 14 in handicap at Windsor (6f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Has a bit to prove stepping back up to 1m.

Improved on final qualifying run when runner-up at Haydock. May have needed the run on handicap debut earlier this month but has improvement to find in first time cheekpieces.

Solid form as a juvenile. Travelled better than most when needing the run on handicap debut prior to not getting home over 10f at Sandown earlier this month. From a good family and may well resume progress back over 1m.

Stepped forward from previous efforts with cheekpieces on for first time when fifth of 11 in handicap at Sandown (7f, good, 9/1) 17 days ago, deserving of extra credit having been left poorly placed. Remains open to progress stepping back up in trip.

A tricky puzzle, it could be worth chancing MOONJID who had solid form as a juvenile and having shaped with some encouragement on reappearance, he's been given a chance by the handicapper after appearing not to get home over 1¼m last time. Threatening heads the dangers, with this more galloping track expected to suit, while Golden Thorn caught the eye over 7f last time and may progress back up in trip. Encourageable isn't one for maximum faith but would be a danger if things fall right.
