Consistent sort who bagged Thirsk Hunt Cup in May and following solid placed efforts next 2 starts, added to his tally over 7f here in July. Competitive again from higher marks of late (latest run best excused) and this smart handicapper looks sure to play a part again.

Ended a 2-year losing run at Newmarket (7f, soft) in July and big effort when third in International at Ascot later that month. Hard to knock his consistency all 3 starts over 7f since and return to this slightly longer trip may help now.

Steadily progressive 4-y-o who landed Irish Lincolnshire on return and went in again on AW at Newcastle (1m) in June. Down the field in Golden Mile next start but quickly back to form when third back at that venue 16 days ago. Fresher than most for this time of the season.

Smart as a 3-y-o when trained in France. Not kicked on as expected this term but latest Haydock second behind a highly progressive 3-y-o 13 days ago was much more like it. Raised 4 lb on the back of that but foolish to rule out for yard who took this 12 months ago.

C&D winner. Showed benefit of reappearance run when running out an impressive winner at Doncaster (1m) in June and he comes here having finished a good second behind a thriving sort at Redcar (1m) 6 days ago. Not out of things from same mark.

C&D winner who resumed winning ways at Redcar (7f) in June but not in same form in trio of starts subsequently, hooded for 1st time, well held in handicap here (7f) 3 weeks ago. Others arrive with more pressing claims.

Back to winning ways eased in grade at Newmarket (1m) in June and essentially consistent in defeat since, picked off late by a course specialist at Goodwood (1m, soft) 16 days ago. Promising rider again takes off a handy 3 lb.

Disappointed on 2 of first 3 starts this summer but bounced back to form from sliding mark to score at Carlisle (6.9f) in August. Somewhat predictably not in the same form at Ayr (1m) 3 weeks ago, though. Others preferred.

Tasted success twice in 2022, including the Golden Mile at Goodwood. Winless so far this time around, yet penultimate fifth over 7f here last month highlighted he's in good heart and he's worth a second look in a first-time visor from a dangerous mark.

Largely consistent sort who doubled his tally for the season at Hamilton (8.3f) in July. Essentially ticking over in trio of starts from higher marks subsequently and he may just find a couple too strong back up in grade.

Just the one win from 25 starts but not shaping at all badly equipped with visor/from reduced mark of late, twice a runner-up prior to finishing midfield in last month's Cambridgeshire. Good pace to aim at here will suit. One of 4 runners from this yard.

Fallen in weights following a distinctly mixed bag this season and capitalised returned to front-running tactics/equipped with cheekpieces at Beverley (7.4f, heavy) last month. Solid second under a penalty at Ayr (7.2f) latest and whilst this is tougher, he's not dismissed in this groove.

This looks set to be run at a good clip and with a host holding claims, it could just be worth chancing ORBAAN. He wasn't at his very best at Ascot on his most recent start but had previously shaped well when fifth over 7f here and a first-time visor could just put an extra edge on him, operating from a dangerous mark. Northern Express, Autumn Festival and Lattam head up the dangers.
