Remains a maiden following 14 starts for Mouse Morris in Ireland. Big step forward needed starting out for new yard here following an 8-month absence.

Point winner who posted his best effort yet under Rules when runner-up for Johnny Farrelly at Wincanton in February. However, failed to build on that back with former trainer at Wetherby last time.

Back on track when third in an 11-runner handicap at Wetherby (2m, good to soft) 18 days ago. Left the impression that there this step back up in trip would serve him well and he's a major player.

Cost £20,000 after finishing runner-up on his second start in Irish points. No great shakes in 3 hurdles starts at up to 17f, but better is expected now upped in trip for this handicap debut.

Just modest form so far and hopes here pinned on first-time cheekpieces sparking improvement.

No show in a trio of novice events at Warwick in February and improvement was not forthcoming on last month's Huntingdon handicap debut.

Hasn't shown much spark in 4 starts in this sphere, including on recent handicap debut at Hereford. Likely to struggle once more, unless the addition of blinkers/tongue strap works the oracle.

Got the job done at the ninth attempt over hurdles when accounting for 12 rivals at Taunton (19f, good) recently. Up just 2 lb and she has to be high on the shortlist.

Left previous efforts well behind when going close at Taunton (19f, heavy) in January, but she has failed to build on that in 2 subsequent starts.

First past post on handicap debut (subsequently disqualified for taking wrong course) at Fontwell in November. Well held sole completed start since, though, and she's opposable.

Showed a bit more spark when sixth of 13 on handicap debut at Plumpton (15.9f, good to soft), but not enough to suggest that he'll be up to winning this.

Forecasts

Baily Gorse (4/1), Poet's Reflection (9/2), Kaproyale (9/2), No Worries (11/2), Megaudais Speed (6/1), Obey The Rules (11/1), Shutthegate (12/1), Just Henny (12/1), Miss Harriett (16/1), Alfoski (28/1), Speedy Choice (50/1)

14:10 Chepstow - 10 April 2021 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

KAPROYALE produced his best effort yet when third at Wetherby recently, despite the drop back to the minimum trip counting against him. This test will be more suitable and he makes plenty of appeal off a 1 lb lower mark. Poet's Reflection is a big threat on the back of her breakthrough success at Taunton and Obey The Rules, who may well improve now pitched into a handicap, is also shortlisted.

  1. KAPROYALE
  2. POET'S REFLECTION (IRE)
  3. OBEY THE RULES (IRE)
