Horse silk
6/5
Failed to score on the Flat in 13 starts. Is still looking for his opening success after two runs over hurdles. He did run well last time though over this C&D as he was third of 13 runners. May be capable of more so is one to consider.
Has had three attempts under Rules so far. He produced his best performance yet on his latest appearance when he was third of 12 over this C&D. Open to improvement still so he is a leading contender here.

Prevailed just once in 28 starts on the Flat and that came at Chepstow over 2m. He was sixth of eight four days ago at Southwell (2m½f) on the AW. Set for his first run over hurdles now. Others appeal more.

A three-time winner on the Flat, including at Carlisle (1m3f) back in May. Was much better on his second hurdles start when he was fourth of 11 at Huntingdon (2m). Remains open to improvement. Has each-way claims.

Ran well in two bumpers earlier in his career. His sole appearance over hurdles so far came at Ludlow (2m) where he was 10th of 12 runners. Was second of 12 on his last start on the Flat at Windsor (1m2f). It may be best to watch him on his return.

Was successful twice on the AW on the Flat back in September. Came down at the second hurdle from home on his latest run at Doncaster (2m½f) when he was well beaten at the time. Likely to produce more this time so can't be discounted.

8/1
Prevailed in a point-to-point at the third attempt on his latest run at Garthorpe (3m). Has since switched yards and is now set for his opening appearance under Rules. Will wear a tongue-tie for the first time. Is worth consideration.

Finished second of six on her debut at Warwick (2m) in a bumper. Has failed to build upon that since. She was seventh of 13 on her opening attempt over hurdles last time at Wincanton (2m5½f) after going off at 100/1. Others appeal more.

33/1
Came home third of eight on her opening start in a bumper at Newcastle (2m½f) on the AW. Was a long way off the winner when she was fifth of eight on her first hurdles start at Market Rasen (2m½f). Needs to produce more.
His sole start so far came on the Flat when he had just one horse behind him in a 10 runner field at Nottingham (1m½f) back in October 2018. Set for his first run for his new yard here on what will be his hurdles debut. Best to watch.

Forecasts

Escapability (6/5), Shall We Go Now (4/1), Filou Des Issards (9/2), Wagner (8/1), Roar (8/1), Frau Georgia (20/1), Spice War (20/1), Mighty Meg (33/1), Dehradun (66/1), Panatos (200/1)

14:00 Taunton - 7 January 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

FILOU DES ISSARDS ran well last time over this C&D to finish third behind a smart hurdler. He can build upon that to claim the opening success of his career on this latest attempt. Escapability is in contention on the basis of his run over this C&D when he hit the frame last time so expect to see him in the mix at the finish, while recent point-to-point winner Wagner can put in a strong showing on his opening outing under Rules to finish in the frame.
  1. Filou Des Issards
  2. Escapability
  3. Wagner
