9/2
Career best when winning a Group 1 in France towards the end of last year and only narrowly denied at Ascot on Champions Day. Not quite in the same form at Meydan on softer ground last time and will struggle to defy his penalty in this contest.

Big Orangep61
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-2| J: L Dettori| T: M L W Bell| OR:  117| D
4/5
Game front-runner who hasn't been seen to best effect when globe-trotting over the winter. Likely to be a different proposition back on these shores though and well suited to a sound surface, so connections will be hoping the ground dries out. Hard to beat on these terms and the booking of Dettori is a big positive.

Excellent winner of a Nottingham Listed race on return to action and looked like he could come on for that effort. Largely been kept to shorter than this trip so that would have to be a slight concern but should go well provided the ground dries out with De Sousa booked.

Slightly disappointing when he was a beaten favoutite at Kempton last time but always gives his running and has been taking each step up in class in his stride. Needs to improve again but holds a Group 1 entry (Ascot Gold Cup) so connections clearly believe he's capable.

16/1
Trying to bounce back from a season where he made very little impact in his two starts. Has won at this level, when taking this contest in 2015 but he's been very lightly raced since and faces a tough task.

50/1
Not disgraced in Group 3 company two starts back in Italy but struggled back at Listed level last time and his level of form is below the required level to get involved here.

She Is No Lady232
Age: 5|  Weight: 8-13| J: Fran Berry| T: R M Beckett| OR:  101
17/2
Won a French Listed contest towards the end of last season and she has less miles on the clock than plenty of these but she needs to improve and the suspicion is she won't want the ground to dry out too much.

Forecasts

Big Orange (4/5), Quest For More (9/2), Higher Power (7/1), She Is No Lady (17/2), Elidor (12/1), Vent De Force (16/1), Berghain (50/1)

19:05 Sandown - 25 May 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

While Big Orange will be very tough to beat, his price is likely to take that into account and it may be worth chancing ELIDOR who started his season in fine fashion and may not be done improving just yet. Quest For More will struggle to defy this penalty but he's versatile tactics wise and he may land a place.
  1. Elidor
  2. Big Orange
  3. Quest For More
