Seamus Cahill’s September 2022 bitch has taken to Romford extremely well including a successful 35.17sec victory in a trial stakes last week and can continue where she left off to win a race that is not blessed with early speed. She can use the draw to her advantage on the inside to then be extremely handy before pulling away from her rivals to head into next week’s semi-finals.
FABULOUS SONIQUE (T3) can continue her love affair with Romford by taking heat five at 8.19.
Mark Wallis’s bitch finished a gutsy third in the British-bred competition at Towcester last weekend but really does save her best form for Romford and this 575m trip she faces tonight. The early pace is out wide with Keefill Goose and Ballymac Kinga so, as long as Fabulous Sonique gets first run on Radical Scoby, she can prove too strong for her rivals heading into the fifth bend.
BRIGADIR BRINDLE (T6) can come on for last week’s fifth place finished by taking heat six at 8.36.
David Mullins’ charge returned to racing last week following a lay-off from April and, although beaten over seven lengths, he found himself in a strong trial stakes for this competition whereas tonight he’s in a slightly weaker race that can be take advantage of. Teddie would be the biggest danger to the selection but if Brigadir Brindle comes away running he should have way too much for these five rivals.
