Unai Emery has been sacked by Arsenal. Tom Carnduff takes a look at some of the contenders in the market to replace him.
A 2-1 Europa League defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday made it seven games without a win for the Gunners - their worst run since 1992.
That proved to be the final straw for the Arsenal hierarchy - who moved to dismiss Emery from his position at the Emirates Stadium on Friday morning.
Here, (correct as of 1000 GMT 5/12/2019), we look at the contenders to replace him.
Massimiliano Allegri
Sky Bet odds:
Brendan Rodgers was around 28/1 in the immediate aftermath of Emery's sacking but Sporting Life columnist Charlie Nicholas - as well as other pundits - started talking up the chances of the former Liverpool and Celtic boss taking the reins.
Rodgers is now just 3/1 second favourite having taken Leicester to second in the table and Liverpool's unlikeliest nearest challengers to the title and Sunday's last-gasp 2-1 victory over Everton made it six Premier League wins on the spin.
However, when asked if he was staying with the Foxes, he said: "Yeah, very much so. It doesn't annoy me. I don't think so much about it. It's not in my control. I came here to help the project and see if we could bring it forward. I'm at a great club. I absolutely love it here."
Was that convincing enough?
If the call came from Arsenal, he'd have plenty to think about given the potential long-term success - and the 'big club greatness' that goes with it - could be more likely with the Gunners.
Freddie Ljungberg
Sky Bet odds:
The Arsenal legend became captain in 2002 and went on to lead the Gunners during the 2003/04 Invincibles season, so he'd undoubtedly be a popular choice with the fans.
Vieira is yet to build an impressive CV as a coach and so far his jobs have been the Manchester City reserve team, New York City FC and, currently, French side Nice.
They finished seventh in his first season and although they are currently lacking in form in the bottom half of the table, this has not stopped reported interest from the Gunners.
Mauricio Pochettino
