Everton v Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino: Spurs boss should take the game to Everton

Two sides who spent big in the summer and now massively underachieving with both managers coming under scrutiny.

Everton have been consistently inconsistent. The atmosphere at Goodison Park was tense in midweek after scraping past Watford with a strong team and the pressure is growing on Marco Silva. When they have needed big performances in their last two home games in the league against Man City and West Ham, they have delivered though and it will be interesting to see their approach here.

Tottenham, meanwhile, look a shadow of their former selves under Mauricio Pochettino this season. Just before Christmas last year, they won this fixture 6-2 on Merseyside, but now they cannot buy an away win - without one now in their last 11 Premier League games.

Dele Alli, as Roy Keane said so honestly, looks off the pace, Christian Eriksen looks uninterested and they need to turn it around sooner or later. But their away performance last week at Liverpool was decent and if they perform in a similar fashion they can get something at Goodison.

It really is a tough one to call, but the visitors can, in a win or high-scoring draw, grab two goals against an Everton defence which has already conceded seven at home this season and you can back them to score two or more at 5/4.

Tottenham have been bad, but Everton have been worse. Mauricio Pochettino's side can put in another battling display on Merseyside to come away with something.
