Back in February, they also confirmed that Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech would be joining from Ajax at the end of the campaign, reportedly worth an initial £33.4m.

He has been attracting interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs after impressing in a talented Ajax side which reached the Champions League semi-finals last year. In 2019/20, he scored eight and assisted a further 21 in 35 games in all competitions.

And it now the Londoners have activated Werner's release clause and secured his services for £47.5m.

Werner caught the attention of some of Europe's biggest clubs after consistent performances for Bundesliga outfit Leipzig, including 32 goals and 13 assists in 43 appearances (all competitions) this season.
