A win for Fulham on Thursday evening would see them leapfrog Newcastle and move out of the relegation zone on goal difference, also putting them level on points with Brighton.

This comes after a run of good results for Scott Parker’s men, unbeaten in their last five, including wins against Everton and Sheffield United, and the Cottagers may feel a little aggrieved not to be even closer to their rivals after Sunday’s stalemate with Crystal Palace, Parker’s side dominating the ball and creating much better opportunities than their opponents, just unable to take their chances, a familiar tale for Fulham this season.

Kick-off time: Thursday, 18:00 GMT

TV channel: BT Sport 1

This will not be an easy assignment for Fulham, however, not solely because of the quality of opposition they face, but also because of their own woes at Craven Cottage this season.

Only Sheffield United have picked up fewer points on home soil than Fulham this season, with Parker’s side managing just two wins from their 13 fixtures, while they also have the lowest home goal return of any side in the Premier League this term, scoring just eight times in West London.

That is bad news for Scott Parker then, as his team welcomes a Tottenham side who are in good goal scoring form all of a sudden, meaning Fulham will need to nick a goal at the very least if they are to get anything out of this fixture.

Tottenham come into this game hoping to avoid a fourth successive Premier League away defeat, having succumbed to Brighton, Manchester City and West Ham in their last three matches on the road, but confidence will be high among the Spurs ranks after a 4-0 hammering of Burnley on Sunday – the third time in their last four matches in all competitions that Tottenham have hit the back of the net four times (twice scoring four against Wolfsberger in the Europa League).

That victory over Burnley could prove a pivotal point in Tottenham’s season, not purely because of the result, but also because it marked the reemergence of Gareth Bale in the Premier league, with the Welshman scoring twice and providing one assist.

Perhaps a couple of weeks ago, when Spurs were failing to fire, these prices would be understandable, but with Gareth Bale now flying, Harry Kane fully recovered from his ankle injury, and Son Heung-Min continuing to be Son Heung-Min, this could quickly turn into a very difficult night for Fulham.

Jose Mourinho will be desperate for his side to kick on from that impressive performance at Burnley, and even money about a TOTTENHAM WIN looks too good a price to pass up.
