BDO World Darts Championships results: Wins for Scott Mitchell and Glen Durrant; Dave Parletti picked off by Krzysztof Kciuk

A review of Tuesday action at the BDO World Darts Championships, as Glen Durrant and Scott Mitchell both won but Dave Parletti failed to live up to expectations.

Glen Durrant made a winning start to his quest to win the Lakeside crown for a third successive year after a solid 3-0 victory over Mark McGrath.

The Teesider is bidding to become the first man since Eric Bristow way back in 1984-86 to lift this prestigious trophy three years on the trot and this performance underlined why he’s the clear tournament favourite.

Durrant missed out on achieving the same feat in the World Masters last year when losing to Adam Smith-Neale, who limped out of this tournament on crutches during his defeat to New Zealand’s McGrath two nights ago, but he’ll be confident of going close to another history-making feat.

The 48-year-old three seven 180s and averaged 93.90 throughout a one-sided contest in which he only dropped three legs while he completed his victory with a match high checkout of 116.
